Big Bend National Park area in Brewster County, Texas will be the site of a BugGuide gathering in September 2026.
Venue
Marcia Morris has reserved a block of 15 rooms at the Terlingua Lodge Sept. 24-27th. The lodge is approximately 1 hour from Big Bend National Park but adjacent to the Christmas Mountains. The discounted price for a cabin with 2 beds is $367.48 for the three nights, which includes a 25% discount for multi cabin reservation. Call the lodge and make a reservation under the name of BugGuide Gathering 2026 before June 30 for the discount. RV set-ups are $40 per night and primitive camping sites $8 per night.
This lodge is located in a Dark Sky area so exterior "lights out" occurs 10pm-6am. Because of this mothing stations are not permitted.
Power in that remote locality is sparse so in-room amenities do not include coffee makers and such, but each room has a refrigerator. Coffee is available onsite 24 hours. There is an onsite cafe and restaurant.
The lodge can provide guests with day use permits to hike, bike, and off road access to the Christmas Mountains upon request.
